Breeding - Cave Spawner, provide caves in the form of rockwork, driftwood, oak leaves, clay pots, etc.

Personal Remarks - Easy to keep provided frozen &/or live foods are given. Spawns consist up to 40 eggs. More of an even sex ratio of males to females when R/O water is used to get the pH around 6.5 at a temperature of around 80 F. Fry take baby brine shrimp and show sexual dimorphism at about 4-5 months of age.

Additional Remarks - A. borellii, shows many natural color morphs including a yellow morph where most of the body is yellow in color with hints of blue highlights as well as a morph known as A. borellii Opal where the fish is blue across much of the body and the face has red highlights. Within any one spawn of wild fish, all color morphs will be present making A. borellii highly variable in coloration at any location.
