Distribution/Location - Peru, Brazil- Wide ranging species & most Westernly found Geophagus species.

Water Parameters - pH 6.5-7.5

Temperature - 76-84 F

Size - Males: 10" Females: 6-8"

Breeding - Bi-parental Ovophilous mouthbrooder (Both parents mouthbrood eggs & fry)

Personal Remarks - Easy to keep, will spawn at a size of 5". Be sure to provide a tank size of 50 gallons or more.
