Distribution/Location - Brazil, Colombia & Guyana

Water Parameters - pH <7, well established aquaria

Temperature - 78-84 F

Size - Males: 1.75" Females: 2"

Breeding - Egg scatterer, lays small eggs within fine leaved plants. Females grow larger then males & appear more full in abdomen area. Males typically have more coloration then females.

Personal Remarks - Can be problematic when first acquired but once settled in are easy to keep. Sometimes needs frozen &/or live when first kept but usually will accept prepared foods once established.
