Aqualog books are well known for the most part one thing, lots of photos. Due to the amount of photos in these books, I believe this helps aquarists identify some species & bring to light new species not known by some aquarists.
Aqualog All Rainbowfish provides a look at the Family Atheriniformes in great detail throughout its 175 pp. The book shows photos of a lot of genera that previously were not well documented collectively.
The best thing about Aqualog's is that they leave room in the back of the book for regular updates. If new species are found, then a sticker tag is made & can be place in the proper place in the book.
One of the better things about this book is the number of different color forms of the various species of rainbows. Each river system typically has a certain color form of a species of rainbowfish (i.e. Melanotaenia trifasciata lists over 30 color forms). Overall a great look at the Family of Rainbowfish even with the lack of reading material.
